Behind Kantana’s LED start: experiences from Southeast Asia’s entry into Virtual Production

For years, Kantana has been the gold standard of post-production in Asia, attracting production teams from neighbouring Southeast Asian countries and further afield, and gathering credits on films from Pee Mak, which became the highest grossing Thai film of all time on its release in 2013, to Master of the House, the first Thai series ever to hit #1 on Netflix’s global non-English-language top 10. If investing in Virtual Production is a natural development, the company is also well aware that building out its VP muscle and skills, along with its stack of 3D backgrounds, will take time.
